Applying for America’s Got Talent and doing great in the audition was never easy to do. If you are talented and want to know how the pharaoh made it to the biggest talent show in the world. Here is the journey of Medhat Mamdouh.
What’s America’s got talent?
It is a famous Tv show where amateur performers present their singing, dancing, comedy, and novelty acts to celebrity judges and a nationwide audience to advance in the competition and win a huge money prize of 1 million dollars.
Now, Who is Medhat Mamdouh?
The 28-year-old pharaoh is a musician playing an instrument called Recorder.
It all started when he was 12 years old when he was playing with the instrument. But actually, his performance since childhood was a sign of promising talent. However, despite the fact, he was not thinking of playing music in front of many people one day.
The recorder is a family of woodwind musical instruments in the group known as internal duct flutes. A recorder can be distinguished from other duct flutes by a thumb-hole for the upper hand and seven finger-holes: three for the upper hand and four for the lower. It is the most prominent duct flute in the western classical tradition.
Fate played its role
Fate put our promising talent suddenly into the situation of playing music using the Recorder in front of many people in his college.
And that was the moment he knew he must go forward in his career as a musician.
“I dreamt of being a global musician”, he said.
He went to Sakyet el Sawy stage, the place I call “Talent hub,” and started playing music as many Egyptian artists do there and in university theaters.
He performed great on these stages so that he applied for the famous show Arab’s got Talent, and as usual, as a promising talent, he passed the selection phase and performed well in his audition.
The show made him more famous than before so that he did many interviews for famous Egyptian TV channels. But still, the results were not as good as what our Pharaoh expected.
The pharaoh then participated in Ali rabies’s play “Sabahiya mobarka” on the grand Nile tower stage.
The turning point
The turning point in his career was a video he made ( My War ) on YouTube, which achieved more than 100 million views worldwide. The video was being shared by other pages too.
After this point, he started invading the world with his concerts in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Germany, Lebanon, America, and Austria.
The pharaoh participated too in big shows in the likes of: “La Perle” in Dubai directed by the director of the most famous show “Cirque du Soleil,” Franco Dragone.
But Life had another opinion.
Life is ups and downs
The pharaoh stopped his career temporarily for some time, but he didn’t ever forget about his dream.
Number 1 is reserved by the pharaoh
He is now participating in America’s Got Talent show, being the first Pharaoh ever to participate in this show and the first participant ever playing music using the Recorder on the biggest talent show in the world.
And the news: Beatboxing Recorder Player Blows the Judges Minds on “America’s Got Talent.“
