Karim Kassem has been appointed as a jury member in the Short Film Competition at the 37th Alexandria International Film Festival for Mediterranean countries.
Kassem will be joined by the German critic Thomas Kask, the Spanish filmmaker Nayra Sanz, and several others.
Alexandria International Film Festival for Mediterranean Countries is a film festival in Egypt. Organized by the Egyptian Association of Film Writers and Critics. This year, the festival is set to start from the 25th of September till the 30th of September 2021.

The Egyptian star has started his career in some indie movies such as “Awkat Faragh,” “Magic,” “Bel Alwan el tabi3eya,” and “EUC,” where he portrayed what guys his age are going through in Egypt.
After that, Karim co-starred in the box office movie “Welad Rizk” and its sequel with Ahmed Ezz, Amr Youssef, Ahmed Dawood, and directed by Tarek Al Arian.
Meanwhile, thriving in the cinematic field, he co-acted in several successful T.V series like “Khas Gedan,” “Al-Gama3a”, “Al-Heroub,” “Al-Kabous,” and “Nasibi w Kesmetak.”
International stardom
“The First Line” was Karim Kassem’s first international trial, now streaming on Netflix. Following this successful experience, he participated in the British series “The State.”
His first-ever production experience with Netflix was “Leil / Khaergi” with Mona Helal, Sherif Al-Desouky, and directed by Ahmed Abdallah, which participated in the 2018 Toronto Film Festival.
Besides “The First Line” and “Leil / Kharegi,” Karim stars in another movie streaming on Netflix, which is the Award-winning movie “Sawah” with Sara Abdulrahman, Jean-LUC Couchard, and directed by Adolf El Assal.
Latest Work
Lately, Karim has finished shooting his scenes as a lead actor in the “Ganeb Mozlem” series, and he’s also starring in one of “3al helwa wel mora” with the beautiful Salma Abu Deif, which will be soon available on Shahid VIP.
