Eid Al Fitr is just around the corner, yet the number of Covid-19 cases is skyrocketing.

While it’s better to try to stay home as much as possible, you can still enjoy Eid Al Fitr in Egypt with some covid friendly activities!

Walking, running, and biking:

These are all fun and basic activities that you can enjoy with a friend or family – and it’s free!

The best places for such activities are Zamalek and Maadi.

Golfing:

Golfing in Egypt is not the most popular sport that you can practice, but it’s fun and forces you to social distance.

We recommend going to JW Marriott Cairo, Mirage City Golf Club in New Cairo, or Dreamland Gold Resort in the 6th of October.

Tennis:

Another sport that forces you to social distance! You really don’t need to be a pro to enjoy it. Just book a court and have fun with it.

We don’t recommend going to sports clubs because they’ll probably be overcrowded. We recommend Cairo Marriott Hotel & Omar Khayyam Casino, or JW Marriott.

Boating:

Rent a yacht with close family members or even a falouka. Just make sure it’s a big boat to help you social distance and make sure the sailor will wear a mask throughout the ride.

Falouka can be rented in Zamalek or Maadi.

Picnics and BBQs!

You know what? You don’t even need to go out with this. Get your rooftop cleaned and hang out with your family.

If that’s not doable, you can head to an outdoor place with friends or family.

Bring our own food and drinks, keep your gathering small, maintaining social distance from others, and plan activities that don’t require close contact.

Usually, we’d recommend Azhar Park, but it will definitely be super crowded during eid. A great alternative can be Wadi Degla Protectorate‎

Wherever you head, though, PLEEEEASE make sure you clean after yourself.

Swimming pools and beaches:

COVID-19 is not likely to be transmitted through water, especially chlorinated or salted water.

With that said, you must pick a place where you can actually practice physical distancing, in and out of the water.

Be very careful in public bathrooms, wash your hands, and spray alcohol on your hands and belongings as much as you can.

We, for sure, don’t recommend any clubs for pools. Hotels might be a good option, as well as renting Airbnb’s that have pools.
