According to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), the Egypt Population added roughly 67,000 people between May 9 and May 26 alone, pushing the total population inside the country to over 109 million.
To put it in perspective, that’s 5,439 babies are born every single day. That’s 227 every hour, 3.8 every minute, and one new Egyptian every 15.9 seconds.
CAPMAS reached the 109 million milestone in just 267 days, tracking it all through a live population clock fed directly by the Health Ministry’s birth and death registry.
The numbers reflect something Egypt has been wrestling with for years. Family planning programs exist, development indicators are improving, and the conversation around sustainable growth is very much alive at the policy level.
But the clock keeps ticking, literally.
More people means more pressure on housing, schools, hospitals, and jobs. It also means a massive, young population that, if invested in properly, could be one of the country’s greatest assets.
