With the commencement of filming for his new movie Darweesh, Amr Youssef reveals an exciting and distinctive facet of his artistic journey, blending intrigue and charisma in a suspense-filled narrative.

In Darweesh, Amr takes on the role of a man who walks the fine line between contradictions, skillfully balancing humor and cunning, simplicity and meticulous planning.

This journey with the character of Darweesh was not a spur-of-the-moment decision. It took four years of collaboration with writer Wissam Sabry to craft the unique world and compelling personality of Darweesh.

Explaining his choice of the role, Amr Youssef shared, “What drew me to Darweesh is the character’s nature and how it takes you into unexpected situations, offering a story packed with action and adventure in a fresh, different style.”

Darweesh delivers a seamless blend of excitement and fun in a light yet gripping format. Through its thrilling events, the film redefines heroism in an unconventional manner, breaking away from the stereotypical hero image.

The film features a stellar cast of Egyptian cinema stars, including Dina El Sherbiny, Tara Emad, Mostafa Gharib, Mohamed Shahin, and Khaled Kamal. Darweesh is directed by Walid El-Halfaoui and produced through a collaboration between VOX Studios, One to One Productions, Film Clinic, and Film Square.
