The General Administration of Giza Traffic announced a complete closure of the main 26th of July road in the direction coming from 15th of May Bridge and El Tersana Club towards the areas of Lebanon Square and 6th of October City for a duration of 6 days.
In a statement, the administration mentioned that this closure is part of the implementation of construction works for the Wadi El Nile Monorail project in Mohandessin – 6th of October, and the establishment of a new ramp on the 26th of July Road (main road) in the direction coming from 15th of May Bridge and El Tersana Club towards Lebanon Square and 6th of October City, along with the necessary traffic diversions that will be executed as part of the preparatory works for delivering the Monorail station at Wadi El Nile.
This closure requires a complete shutdown of the 26th of July road to traffic in the mentioned direction and location for a distance of precisely 350 meters, starting from the top of Wadi El Nile tunnel and ending just before the beginning of Lebanon Bridge by a distance of 80 meters. The closure will be in effect starting from 12:00 AM on Monday, 31st of July, 2023, until 5:00 AM on Saturday, 5th of August, 2023. The construction works will be carried out around the clock.
The General Administration of Giza Traffic has coordinated with the executing company to implement the following traffic diversions for the 26th of July Main Road:
- Diverting the traffic on the 26th of July Road (main road) in the direction coming from Lebanon Square and 6th of October City to serve the traffic coming from 15th of May Bridge and El Tersana Club. Additionally, openings (entry – exit for vehicles) will be established on the central island after enhancing its asphalt layer.
- Vehicles coming from Lebanon Square and 6th of October City, intending to continue towards 15th of May Bridge and Zamalek Club, will make a right turn onto the supporting road of the 26th of July Road, and continue on the supporting road until reaching the exit opening to return again to the main 26th of July Road in the direction of 15th of May Bridge and Sphinx Square.
- Vehicles coming from 15th of May Bridge and El Tersana Club, intending to continue towards Lebanon Square and 6th of October City, will make a left turn to the other direction (coming from Lebanon Square and 6th of October) after the traffic diversion on it through the newly established entry opening on the central island.
- Vehicles will continue on the path of the traffic diversion until passing the works area, then return again to the original road on the 26th of July in the direction of Lebanon Square and 6th of October City through the newly established exit opening before the beginning of Lebanon Bridge, at a distance of 80 meters.
