The Iraqi-American beauty blogger, entrepreneur & owner of Huda Beauty cosmetics, Huda Kattan, has announced Ketish to be the first brand to be launched by her Huda Beauty Angels which falls under the HB Investments.
Huda Kattan has always been known for her passion for supporting female entrepreneurs & mission-based start-ups all over the globe. She is considered the Mohamed Salah of the beauty industry!
She changed the stereotypical image of Arab women in the west as a well-known makeup artist, then launching her brand.
And now, she is contributing to breaking the stereotypical taboo of acknowledging the topic of women’s sexual wellness by backing up Eman Abass’s Ketish.
I’m really excited on a deep level about Huda Beauty Angels and being able to reveal to you guys very soon the first project we are investing in with an amazing founder who has such an amazing mission and purpose and we know they’re going to change the world,Huda Kattan, chairwoman of HB Investments and Founder of Huda Beauty.
And after launching her brand in 2013, Huda found herself struggling to raise funds to expand her business, which leads her to create an initiative to help future founders in her position. In 2017 HB investments had launched to help exceptional entrepreneurs to achieve their dreams & have the chance to impact the world.
Ketish is founded by Eman Abbas, a former product developer in Huda Beauty. The brand specializes in sexual wellness.
It’s a brand ready to break the taboo of shaming feminine wellness by empowering women in the Middle East through luxurious, better-for-you products and thoughtful, expert advice.
The lifestyle e-commerce brand helps women understand their bodies, health, self-care, desire, and so much more.
Eman Abbas had undergone an experience when she was 21 years old. She was diagnosed with cervical cancer during her first-ever trip to the gynecologist. Coming from an American-Muslim conservative family, Eman felt ashamed to talk about her case with her family during the diagnosis & treatment process.
And that was the spark of her thinking of launching a platform & products for helping every woman who’s afraid of being ashamed to learn about her sexual wellness. To have a safe haven to speak up & acknowledge this topic!
Since Eman is an Egyptian-American, she was inspired to name the brand after Qetesh, the ancient Egyptian goddess of love, passion, sexuality, and pleasure.
KETISH, is a movement. It’s about taking power back and being fully comfortable with yourself. When people start to become part of this community, they’re going to feel liberated. I realised very quickly that this was a topic that so many people had so many issues with. The more I started talking to Emaan, the more I was convinced that she could change the category and make this sexy and empowering. This brand is deep within her. It’s very purposeful. It’s very powerful. It’s very personal.Huda Kattan, chairwoman of HB Investments and Founder of Huda Beauty.
Isn’t it just wonderful to live in an era where strong, empowering women to break the feminine taboo!
