Trigger Warning: Animal Abuse 7Pets, a well-known pet store that offers grooming services, is facing intense backlash after untrained staff caused a dog’s death by choking during a grooming session.
What occurred at the Grooming Session
On Wednesday, January 14, a resident in the Fifth Settlement named Omar El-Debaby brought his dog to the well-known pet store “7Pets” at a popular plaza in the area for a routine bath.
According to the account and surveillance footage, the dog was restrained using a metal chain tied tightly around its neck and held firmly in place. As expected, the dog resisted, but instead of responding with calm, trained handling, staff reportedly ignored the distress.

The situation worsened as excessive force was used, including restraining, pushing, and pressing the dog down in an attempt to control it.
The situation escalated during this process, and the dog collapsed. Despite the routine nature of the visit, the incident ended with the dog losing its life while still inside the store.
Social Media fuels over 7Pets
After Omar shared the incident on social media, the public reaction was swift and deeply emotional. Many questioned how something like this could happen in a place trusted by pet owners with their animals’ safety.
The story quickly spread across Instagram and TikTok, where users shared the details widely and called for immediate accountability.
As awareness grew, calls to boycott 7Pets began circulating, alongside demands for stricter standards and stronger oversight in pet care facilities. At the same time, many expressed deep sorrow for Omar, offering condolences and support while raising broader concerns about animal safety and professional responsibility.
This Was Not an Isolated Case
After sharing his story, three different people reached out with nearly identical experiences.
They said they had taken their dogs to the same place for grooming, and their pets never returned home. Different owners, different dogs, but the same heartbreaking result. At that point, it became clear that this was no longer about a single incident, but a troubling pattern that cannot be brushed aside or ignored..
After sharing my story, three different people contacted me saying the same thing happened to their dogs at the same place they were sent for grooming and never came back. This is a pattern, not an incident. A place where dogs repeatedly die during grooming should not remain open.
A Case that sheds light on a Hidden Problem
Pets are not plastic. They are not experimental objects. They are living creatures that feel fear, pain, and stress.
Dogs should never lose their lives during a routine grooming session. Grooming is supposed to be a safe process handled by trained professionals, not a situation where an animal’s life is put at risk.
When the same place is repeatedly linked to similar cases, it points to clear negligence, poor training, unqualified staff, and a failure to meet even the most basic standards of animal care.
A facility where this continues to happen should not remain open, and accountability should never be optional.
