After social media backlash and demands for cancellation, Plus_VLS has postponed the Blondish concert in the North Coast, initially scheduled for July 26.
The post was soon deleted, but not before it was captured in a screenshot by @karimkarim_, who shared it with us.
However, they did not provide a new date for the event. Fans who purchased tickets are assured they can get refunds through their original payment methods.
The announcement about the postponement was brief and did not specify when the concert might be rescheduled. We assume this is due to their existing contract with the artist. The announcement, made via social media, seemed to indicate a postponement rather than a cancellation.
Further investigation revealed that the website for purchasing tickets to the event is currently unavailable, and the page is not loading.
Public Sentiment and Calls for Cancellation
The postponement follows intense public outcry against Blondish’s support for Israel, especially given the ongoing situation concerning Palestinians. Many have voiced their displeasure with the artist, demanding that she not only retract her support for Israel but also explicitly show support for Palestine.
Response from Event Organizers
In light of the controversy, the event’s organizers have taken measures to manage the situation, including disabling comments on their social media accounts. There have also been appeals to the musicians’ syndicate to step in and officially cancel the concert.
Blondish appears to have taken note of the backlash, as she recently deleted her post supporting Israel. However, the public’s demands extend beyond this action.
