6 Years Later - Britney Spears is Back with Her First Song After Her Conservatorship in Duet with Sir Elton John

Britney Spears is back with her first musical release since her conservatorship in a duet with Sir Elton John

The new song, “Hold me closer,” is a mashup of Elton John’s classic hits, “Tiny Dancer,” “The One,” and “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” over a summer-fresh club beat. And it marks Spears’ first new song after a 6-year hiatus.

Spears commented on the release: “It’s pretty damn cool that I’m singing with one of the most classic men of our time. I’m kinda overwhelmed… it’s a big deal to me!”

And Sir Elton commented about the collaboration: “Everyone was saying they don’t think she can sing anymore. But I said she was brilliant when she started, so I think she can. And she did it, and I was so thrilled with what she did.”

Elton John is one of the best-selling artists of all time, having sold over 300 million records worldwide in a six-decade career in music.
