Apple Tests New Face ID With a Mask in iOS 15.4 Beta

In the newest iOS 15.4 beta, the beta users noticed that Apple introduced a new feature that will allow you to face ID while wearing a mask; now Apple users won’t have excuses about wearing a mask in public.

Before this update, Apple allowed Face ID with a mask but it required the use of Apple Watch for authentication, but the new feature won’t have this obstacle.

The downside is that this feature will make Face ID less secure, but at least we won’t have to keep taking off our masks to unlock our phones. And introverts will get the chance to practice their eye contact skills because with Face ID with a mask direct eye contact is required.

You can also use the “Add Glasses” feature which will allow you to unlock your phone while wearing a mask and glasses, and no, you can’t wear sunglasses because as Apple said the new feature will “recognize the unique features around the eye.”

We can’t wait to try Face ID with a mask. Let us know what you think about this new update!

What do you think?
